4th APRIL 1982 - ARGENTINE FORCES OCCUPY GOOSE GREEN AND DARWIN Over one thousand Argentine forces move in and occupy Goose Green and nearby Darwin. Over one hundred Falkland Islanders were imprisoned in the community centre. Reg Silvey the Lighthouse keeper and a radio ham made contact with the UK and continued secret transmissions throughout the occupation. British submarine Conqueror sails from Faslane. RMAS ocean tug TYPHOON sailed from Portland for Ascension Island before heading on to South Georgia Admiral Woodward moved his flag from HMS Antrim to HMS Glamorgan. 3 Commando Brigade reinforced by 3 PARA and other Army units |
