SAMA(82) Drum Head Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony

The Drum Head Service and Act of Remembrance, will now take place on Saturday 30th June 2007 inside Hangar 3. The service will last approx 45 minutes. At 12.00 noon there will be a 2 minutes silence for our fallen, followed by a wreath laying ceremony, on Gazelle XX411 - anyone attending is welcome to lay a wreath. The dress for this service is preferably suit or blazer, with medals, and head dress optional. The main Falklands 1982 exhibition will be in Hangar 3. In the area between Hangars 2 and 3, there will be a Sea Harrier, GR3 Harrier, a Wessex 5, Gazelle XX411, a Scout, a Wasp, an Argentine Huey, and Pucara, both captured during the conflict, as well as other captured equipment.

Sorry but all SAMA complimentary tickets have been distributed. There are no more. If you still wish to attend the event you must apply to the show organisers and pay for entry in the normal way.

Further information on the show can be obtained from the Waddington Airshow website - see below. SAMA(82) will have an entertainment tent which will be shared with 44 Sqn RAF. Access to this tent will be on production of SAMA(82) Membership ID Cards only. Inside the tent will be a pay bar and cafeteria, with seating to watch the Airshow. The gates at Waddington open from 8:30am; it is suggested that arrival before 9:00am will ensure that there is time to park and reach Hangar 3 in time for the service. There will be places to purchase tea, coffee and food for those wanting refreshments. There is also a bar at Hangar 3.

For those wishing to camp, we have a special arrangement with local farmer Keith Mason, he has agreed for us to have our own area of the campsite. For those who have not booked you need to be booking in now, this site will be fully booked before long. Keith's website is - http://www.waddingtonaccommodation.co.uk - where you will find the campsite booking form, please state you are a member of SAMA(82), so he knows to include you in "The SAMA(82) Coral." There will be a number of us there from 1000 on Wednesday 27th, so please feel free to join us.
