HM Hospital Ship Uganda ON SUNDAY APRIL 20th 2008 1030-1400 A Reunion of THE HOSPITAL SHIP UGANDA is being held on board the P&O Cruise Ship AURORA in Southampton on April 20th 2008. The Event will be open to all who served, sailed or were medically treated on board The Hospital Ship Uganda during The Falklands War 1982: RN, QARNNS, P&O, RN Medical & Technical Teams, RM Stretcher Bearers/musicians, 1/7th Gurkhas & 16th Field Ambulance. Husbands, wives/ partners welcome. We wish to include as many former patients as possible; there will be disabled parking facilities available near the ship. Cost: £15.50p a head which will include coffee on boarding, lunch with drinks, and our small administration charge. Rig: Smart casual. Security: Security measures will have to be in place: ADMISSION WILL BE BY FORM APPLICATION ONLY. Application Forms with further details available from organisers as below. In the 25 years that have passed it has been difficult locating everyone. If you are in contact with any of those who are unaware of this reunion, could you please ask them to contact us if they wish to be included to avoid disappointment. During the evening of Saturday April 19th, 26 years to the date we left Gibraltar as Her Majesty's Hospital Ship Uganda, Surgeon Commander Peter Bull FRCA, our Consultant Anaesthetist, will be showing his slides of the entire voyage of The Hospital Ship Uganda in 1982. We have the use of a Function Room for the evening, with Buffet Supper for this informal event; please bring your own photos/memories! Contributions to The South Atlantic Medal Association. Overnight accommodation has been arranged for the nights of Saturday April 19th and Sunday 20th at The Premier Travel Inn Southampton North Tel: 08701 977 233. £50 per room only per night.
