ABOUT SAMA

The South Atlantic Medal (1982) is the official name of the medal awarded to almost 30,000 service men and women - and civilians - who took part in the campaign to free the Falkland Islands. SAMA(82) is their Association.
Discussion Board. Check out our SAMA discussion board for news, views and comments. Be involved in running your Association!
Garden of Remembrance. An on-line tribute to the fallen, the most important aspect of SAMA membership. "At the going down of the Sun, and in the morning, we will remember them." Somewhere around the world it is time to remember them.
Falklands War Timeline. A day-by-day account of the significant events of the war, including those in the run-up to the war, and some significant events taking place elsewhere in the world as a point of reference during this short but remarkable period in history.
Membership. Information about our aims and purpose, membership categories, organisation, regional representatives, support pages and information of general interest to members. There is also a shop with a limited range of merchandise.
Veterans Outreach Support (Portsmouth). Any veteran or family member of a veteran is welcome to drop-in, with or without an appointment and meet a doctor, pyschiatrist or case worker on the first Wednesday of the month (from July), between 15:00 and 20:00 hrs.

All SAMA Members and supporters are urged to download and print a Gift Aid Declaration form to enable SAMA to claim back the tax on all donations they have made in this tax year, and in the four tax years previous to the year of the declaration.
