We heard last night that Gary had been involved in a traffic accident. He was apparently helping victims of a previous accident when he was hit by another vehicle. He is presently in intensive care but is expected to be out and on the ward soon. It would appear that he is in for a long recuperation.

We are in touch through Jock Elliot and Sheila Stuart. Any further news will go up as soon as it is received.

Sorry to bring bad news.

Martin.

Latest news from Jock re Gary:-

Up and sitting at the side of the bed. A bit sore, but the Surgeon said he was happy that Gary was up and seemingly getting on the mend. He is expected to be off the road for at least two months. A bottle of Pussers and an unprintable message from a chum indicates improvement!

Jane was with Gary and they both thank all who have sent messages of concern.

When I first heard about Gary's accident my thoughts went out to him, we all of course wish him a speedy recovery and quick return to SAMA FI's excellent work. Now hearing how well he's recovering my thoughts go out to the nurses. Is it true that they've rapidly taken to wearing trousers!!!
Get out of bed you lazy G*T
With much love and dead envious about the lay in!

Absolutely Curly, I agree.

Just one question, are the victims of the first accident ok ? And having hit a "marine" hows the car doing ? I seem to recall Gary was late the day I landed at MPA because he was pulling someone out of a ditch. We need to have a whip round at the AGM and get the man a fluorescent jacket and a "winky pot". Because I daresay it wont stop him helping people out of ditches.

Jules

I could never leave the nurses alone either !!!
